Fall Concerts 2021

Baroque Treasures
Vivaldi Gloria RV 588
and Bach Magnificat

The program explores works by Baroque master composers, Johann Sebastian Bach and Antonio Vivaldi. Vivaldi’s Gloria, RV. 588, is a rarely performed work (compared to the famous Vivaldi Gloria RV. 589). Bach’s Magnificat in D Major, BWV 243 is a work of joy and celebration that makes great demands on the both the chorus and the orchestra. Though the composers never met, Vivaldi’s influence on Bach’s music is indisputable!
