Are you looking for a shared musical experience that lifts mind and spirit? The Taghkanic Chorale is a non-profit, non-sectarian community choir that allows singers in a wide radius around Yorktown Heights to be part of something that enriches our community and teaches members to optimize their unique voices into one compelling sound.

Traditionally rehearsals are held in person on Tuesday nights in Yorktown. During the pandemic we are rehearsing virtually using Zoom from 7:30 to 9:00 - 9:30 pm. Smaller ensembles rehearse in person, but in strict compliance with New York State pandemic guidelines.

Prospective singers are welcome to try us out with no obligation to join.

Members pay annual dues of $200 and purchase music through the Chorale. For in-person concerts, members are also asked to sell $100 in tickets. Auditions are not required yet the high expectations the director has of the Chorale (and members have of each other) ensure productive rehearsals and performances that all can enjoy. Practice CDs or website learning aids are generally available, and sectional rehearsals are offered as needed.

While the Chorale's primary reason for being is to make music, there are also opportunities to socialize online and eventually in-person - including welcome dinners, a Cabaret night, group fundraising efforts and refreshment breaks at each rehearsal.
