Bob Dennard, a long-time tenor and passionate board member of the Taghkanic Chorale passed away on April 23, 2024, at the age of 91. He was also a pioneering engineer and Research Fellow at IBM, inventing DRAM and Dennard scaling, two foundational innovations that underpin today’s computer technology.

In Bob’s memory, IBM awarded a $10,000 grant to the Chorale which was announced at a memorial service held on Friday, June 7th, 2024, at the Thomas J. Watson Research Center in Yorktown Heights. The Chorale performed at the event in his honor.

 

The award was used to support and enhance our 2024 concert season, including professional instrumentalists and guest vocalists.
